Roots in the soil.
Branches for every child.

NANA Foundation works where agriculture, education, sports and community empowerment meet — helping underprivileged children and communities grow, while restoring the land and rivers around them.

What we do

Four verticals, one tree.

Each program plays a distinct role — the way roots, trunk, branches and canopy each do different work for the same tree.

Roots

Agriculture

Soil health, sustainable farming practices and support for local farming communities around Mumbai.

Trunk

Education

Access to schooling and learning support for underprivileged children — building institutions, not just interventions.

Branches

Sports

A community sports club giving children discipline, health and a path forward — on the field, not just in the classroom.

Canopy

Empowerment

Skill-building and livelihood support so families and communities can sustain their own growth.

Environment & CSR

Working with corporates on the land itself.

We partner with companies looking to put their CSR budget into visible, measurable environmental work in and around Mumbai.

  • 01Tree plantation drives
Organised plantings on degraded or open land, tracked and maintained beyond planting day.
  • 02Save Soil initiatives
Soil testing, organic practices and farmer training to reverse degradation.
  • 03River & water body restoration
Clean-up drives and awareness work on local rivers and water sources.
  • 04Sustainability programs
Community-level waste, water and resource initiatives designed with local input.
For CSR partners

Put your CSR mandate to work on the ground.

We design programs that map directly to Schedule VII CSR categories — environmental sustainability, education and rural development — with transparent reporting for your team.

Founder's story

From a farming family in Tripura to founding NANA Foundation

I was born into a humble farming family in Tripura, where resources were limited but values were abundant. Growing up, I witnessed the daily struggles of rural life — financial hardship, limited educational opportunities, and the challenges families face striving for a better future. These experiences shaped my belief that real change begins when ordinary people choose to help others.

My own path took me through the hospitality industry, into sales and business development with leading hotel brands. That career gave me stability and growth, but my heart stayed connected to community service and environmental conservation. Music became another meaningful part of my life — as a live singer, I found that performances could do more than entertain; they could fund social initiatives. Every talent, I learned, can become a force for positive change.

"Sustainable change is created not by one individual, but by communities working together."

This vision first took shape through a social initiative called TD The Journey, where volunteers and I worked on tree plantation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, educational support and community engagement. As that vision grew, it became clear that a stronger institutional foundation was needed — which led to establishing NANA Foundation, built on the belief that compassion, responsibility and collective action can transform lives.

Our mission goes beyond temporary support. We're committed to long-term, sustainable impact through environmental conservation, education, youth development, community welfare, health awareness and skill development — initiatives that help people become agents of change in their own communities. Every tree planted, every child supported, every volunteer inspired contributes to a stronger, more compassionate society.

This journey isn't mine alone. It belongs to every volunteer, supporter, partner, donor and well-wisher who believes we can build a greener, healthier, more hopeful future — together.

About

A young foundation, built to last.

NANA Foundation is a Section 8 nonprofit company based in Mumbai, registered in May 2026. We're building toward a sports club, school partnerships and environmental programs from day one — inspired by the scale of organisations like Isha Foundation and the child-focused rigour of CRY.

Our approach

Why the tree, why now

Every program we run is meant to reinforce the others: a child who eats from land their family farms sustainably, learns in a school we help support, plays for a club we help build, and grows into someone who can do the same for the next family. That's the tree — one root system, many branches.

As a newly registered organisation, we're building our first cohort of programs, partners and supporters now. If you'd like to be part of that founding group, get in touch below.
